We Happy Few is an adventure computer game, a psychological thriller with elements of survival simulator and roguelike, developed by the independent Canadian studio Compulsion Games. The release of the preliminary version of the game in Steam Early Access and Xbox Preview took place on July 26, 2016. The game was developed on the engine Unreal Engine 4 [1], the full version of the game was released on August 10, 2018.
The game takes place in the fictional anti-utopian city of Wellington Wells, where it is forbidden to be sad: all citizens are required to take pills called "Radostin." Under the control of the player is Arthur Hastings, a clerk who works as an "editor" - a state censor in the spirit of the Ministry of Truth, obliged to cut unhappy stories from newspapers and documents. Having met an article about his brother among working materials, the hero ceases to accept "Radostin". Soon he discovers that the real world is very different from the illusion in which he used to exist.
